What patients check before they book
A dental website has about ten seconds to answer four questions.
Can I see someone soon? Does my health fund cover it? What will it roughly cost? Will these people be kind to me? Most practice websites answer none of these above the fold. They open with a stock photo of a smile and a welcome message, then hide the booking button in the menu. Patients don't read that page. They go back to Google and tap the next practice.
We design the other way round. Booking and calling are one tap from every page. Health funds, HICAPS and payment plans show on the homepage. Every treatment has its own page that explains it in plain English. Real photos of the dentists and the clinic do the reassuring, which matters most for the many patients who put off the dentist because they're anxious.
Treatments worth their own page
| Treatment | Phrase | Searches / month |
|---|---|---|
| Implants | dental implants melbourne | 2,900 |
| Emergency | emergency dentist near me | 2,900 |
| Implants, local | dental implants frankston | 480 |
| Whitening | teeth whitening frankston | 390 |
| Aligners | invisalign frankston | 320 |
| Children | child dentist frankston | 210 |
What goes on every page
- Book and callA sticky booking button linked to your real booking system (HotDoc, HealthEngine or your practice software's widget) and tap-to-call, on every page and every screen size.
- Funds and feesAccepted health funds, preferred-provider status, HICAPS, Child Dental Benefits Schedule eligibility, payment plans and price guides where you're comfortable giving them.
- The peopleDentist profiles with qualifications, registration and interests, written so a nervous patient can pick who they'd like to see.
- Practical detailsOpening hours, after-hours advice, parking, accessibility and public transport, in text Google can read, not inside an image.

From scope to launch in four to six weeks
What you get
A custom WordPress site designed around your practice, not a dental template with your logo swapped in. We write the copy with your team, then shoot or source honest photography and build every page to load fast on a phone. The structure is ready for SEO from day one: treatment pages, suburb pages, schema markup, clean URLs and a Google Business Profile connected to the right page. You own the site, the content and the data.
Pages a dental site usually needs
- Home and booking
- About and meet the team
- Fees, funds and payment plans
- New patients and what to expect
- Emergency dentistry
- Children's dentistry
- Implants, aligners and cosmetic
- Nervous patients and sedation
How the build runs
- ScopeA written scope and a fixed price before anything starts: pages, features, integrations and the launch date.
- DesignThe homepage and a treatment page designed first and approved by you, so the rest of the site follows a look you have already signed off.
- ContentTreatment copy drafted by us in plain English, within AHPRA's advertising guidelines. Your dentists review every clinical page before it goes live.
- Build and launchBuilt, tested for speed and accessibility, connected to your booking system and analytics, and launched with redirects so your existing Google rankings carry over.
Moving from an old site? We map every old URL to its new home before launch. Changing a practice website without redirects can throw away years of rankings in a week.
// 03 · 600 mThe rules
Compliant, private and accessible
A dental website is advertising a regulated health service, and it collects health information. We build for both from the first wireframe.
AHPRA advertising rules
No clinical testimonials reposted on your own site (section 133 of the National Law), no specialist titles unless the dentist holds specialist registration, before-and-after photos that match in angle and lighting with any editing disclosed, and no promises of outcomes. Your team approves every clinical claim.
Patient privacy
Health information is sensitive information under the Australian Privacy Principles. Booking and enquiry forms ask only for what's needed, connect over HTTPS and link to your privacy policy. Kraken-hosted sites sit in Kinsta's Melbourne data centre, or Sydney if you prefer.
WCAG 2.2 AA
Every Kraken website is built to WCAG 2.2 AA, and we write that commitment into the client agreement. That means readable contrast, keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels and forms that work for patients with low vision or limited dexterity.

// 05 · 960 mWhy Kraken
Why dentists build with Kraken
Health-sector discipline
Our first clients were in the care sector, where advertising, privacy and accessibility rules are strict. Dental practices get the same care: sourced claims, careful wording and accessible pages.
One operator, start to finish
You deal with Joshua Bartlett, the owner, from the first call to launch day and beyond. No account managers, no juniors, no offshore hand-offs. The person who scopes the site builds it.
Fixed price, written first
Every website is quoted as a fixed scope and a fixed price before any work starts. If we cannot deliver a result you are happy with within the agreed scope, you are not charged.
Our sister business, Good Company Disability Services, is the first organic result on Google for “NDIS mentor” (checked in Australia, 12 October 2026), on a website we designed and built. Read the case study.

// 07 · 1320 mQuestions
Questions dentists ask about websites
How much does a dental website cost?
Our dental websites are a fixed price: Essential (up to 6 pages) is $3,499 + GST, Growth (up to 15 pages) is $6,999 + GST and Authority (up to 40 pages) is $12,990 + GST, with the first year of managed hosting included in all three. After year one, hosting starts from $499 + GST a year. You get the price in writing before anything starts.
Can you connect our online booking system?
Yes. We embed or link the booking tool you already use, such as HotDoc, HealthEngine or your practice management software's own widget, and put it one tap away on every page. We don't replace your booking system or store appointment details on the website.
Will we lose our Google rankings if we change websites?
Not if the move is planned. We map every old page to its new address with permanent redirects, keep the pages that already rank, and check Search Console after launch. Most rankings losses after a redesign come from skipped redirects.
Can we show reviews and before-and-after photos?
Clinical testimonials can't be used in your advertising, including your own website, under section 133 of the National Law. Comments about service can be used, and we link to your Google reviews instead of copying them across. Before-and-after photos can be used if they're honest: matching angle, lighting and framing, any editing disclosed, and the treatment as the only change.
Do we own the website?
Yes. You own the site, the content, the photos we take for you and all the data. If you ever leave, we hand everything over.
Do you only work with practices on the Mornington Peninsula?
No. We work with dental practices anywhere in Australia, remotely. Practices on the Peninsula, in Frankston and in Melbourne's south-east can also meet us in person, and we can photograph the clinic ourselves.
